DropCatch Gets a Shopping Cart

cart snippet

One of the most awkward things about using DropCatch is paying for domains. In the initial design of DropCatch we had a full checkout experience, but we elected to use NameBright’s payment systems so that we could focus on the more critical aspects of backordering domains. Over time this has become a big nuisance! People just want to get their domains into their account. We’ve been busy making that happen.

Today we will be deploying a shopping cart to everyone’s account. Any domain backorders or auction wins will show up as line items in the cart. At launch we will support the following payment methods:

  • NameBright Funded Account
  • Credit Cards stored at NameBright.com
  • New Credit Card
  • PayPal
  • Wire Transfers (for orders of $1000 or above)

With the exception of wire transfers which require a manual validation step, completing checkout successfully will immediately push domains to your account. No more waiting on our batch processes! We hope that this solves one of the more onerous usability problems on the site.
